Itinerary for 5 Days In Jordan
(Assuming you arrive early in the morning to Amman)
Upon arrival get a ride to Petra (3-hour drive). Check in to your hotel straightaway and freshen up. When you are ready, it is time to visit the Lost City Of Petra.
Walk through the Siq until you reach the treasury. I advise you to walk closer to the sides of the road with attention to reckless carriage drivers. Take your time and visit every spot including the monastery (approximately 40 minutes climb).
By the way, you can get a discount on Petra tickets. The only thing you need to do is to show your passport when you are buying the ticket.
You can find further information about the history of Petra here.
In the morning leave Petra and drive to Wadi Rum. Check in to your resort or camp.
Put your sunscreen on and go to the Visitor Center without delay. There you will learn more about the history of Wadi Rum and Bedouin lifestyle. Next, get your camera ready and pick a tour to see more of the Wadi Rum. You'll see ancient cave paintings, bridges formed naturally from giant rocks, and more.
Finally enjoy a cup of tea while the sun sets, then return to your camp or hotel. If the weather permits, Wadi Rum is a perfect place for stargazing. Look up!
In the morning, leave Wadi Rum and head to the Dead Sea. On the way stop at viewpoints and take pictures of the Dead Sea.
After you check in to your hotel, go for a soak in the Dead Sea! Don't let the water get into your eyes. It burns like you poured a bottle of shampoo into your eyes. With this in mind enjoy floating (because it's impossible to swim). While you are at the beach, don’t forget to take a mud bath too.
Spend the rest of the day in the hotel relaxing. Jordan Tourism Board has a website where you can find more practical information about the Dead Sea.
Start your day with some shopping. There are a lot of beauty and health products produced from the minerals of the Dead Sea. Therefore, you will come across shops specialized in these products in the Dead Sea area. Why don't you take some home?
Later, it is time for canyoning. Wadi Mujib is like an amusement park created by nature.
There are different trails for different fitness levels. You can choose the Siq trail. It is beginner-intermediate level and takes about 2-3 hours. I advise you ask for a guide at the Adventure Center where the trail begins. You can find more information about the trails here.
After canyoning, you'll be exhausted and hungry. Finally, go back to your hotel have a well-deserved dinner and rest.
Say your goodbyes to the Dead Sea. Then hit the road for Amman. There are a lot of things to do in Amman and one day is not enough to do all. Therefore, I’ll name a few things you can do. You can pick the ones you like most from the list below.
